Description
Willie's Cottage is a small house, likely built in the 18th century, with its roof raised in the 20th century. It is constructed from granite and killas rubble, featuring granite lintels. The original part of the house has a wheat reed thatched roof, while the left side has dry Delabole slate. There are brick chimneys on the gable ends, with a granite ashlar chimney on the right that has been heightened with brick.
The original layout consisted of two rooms with a cross passage between them, with a parlour on the left and a larger kitchen on the right. In the early 19th century, a two-storey wing with a one-room plan was added to the left side, which includes an open-ended outshut at the back. The cottage is two storeys high and has an overall three-window front. The original house on the right has a slightly asymmetrical two-window front, while the 19th-century addition on the left has one window. The original front features a doorway to the left of the middle and windows grouped towards the left, with what is probably a 20th-century four-panel door and four-pane hornless sashes. The interior has not been inspected.
