Description
This small house, located at the eastern end of a row of cottages, dates from the late 18th century. It features roughly coursed granite rubble walls with dressed granite quoins, jambstones, and lintels, along with slate sills. The roof is thatched, with brick chimneys at the gable ends; the left gable (west) is shared with the adjoining house. A scantle slate roof covers a rear lean-to, which has a round stone chimney breast attached to its northeast corner. The original layout consists of two equal rooms flanking a central passage that leads to a central stair. There are later narrow service rooms at the back within a single-storey lean-to. The cottage is two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-window south front, featuring 12-pane two-light casements on the first floor. The central doorway has a 20th-century top-glazed door. The sills of the ground floor window openings are lower to accommodate tall horned sashes, and there is a later window above the doorway.
