Description

GWENNAP SUNNY CORNER COTTAGES, Sunny Corner SW 74 SE 5/159 Cottage to east of group - GV II Small house, end one of row. Circa late C18. Roughly coursed granite rubble walls with dressed granite quoins, jambstones and lintels and slate sills. Thatched roof with brick chimneys over gable ends with left gable (west) shared with other house. Scantle slate roof over rear lean-to and round stone chimney breast attached to north east corner. Plan of 2 equal rooms originally flanking central passage leading to central stair. Later narrow service rooms to rear within single-storey lean-to. 2 storeys. Symmetrical 3-window south front with 12-pane 2-light casements to first floor. Central doorway with C20 top-glazed door. Sills to ground floor window openings lower to insert tall horned sashes. Window over doorway is later insertion.
