Description

Sea View is a house dating from the mid to late 19th century. It features slurried rubble walls with shallow brick arches above the openings and a dry Delabole slate roof with brick chimneys at the gable ends. The building has a double depth T-shaped plan, with two reception rooms at the front flanking a central cross passage that leads to the stairs. There are shallower service rooms on either side and a one-room plan back kitchen positioned at right angles behind the middle of the house.

The house is two storeys plus an attic, which is illuminated by central gable end windows. The symmetrical south front has three windows and a central doorway with a gable-ended porch. The entrance features a pair of late 19th or early 20th century glazed doors with marginal panes, and the windows are 24-pane horned sashes. Some of the gable and rear windows are original 12-pane hornless sashes. The interior has not been inspected. Sea View is part of a group of buildings that have seen little alteration and is set in beautiful coastal surroundings at Prussia Cove.
