Granary About 5 Metres North West Of Cow House South Of Castle

This granary, located about 5 metres northwest of the cow house south of Castle, dates from the early 19th century. It has a timber frame that is hung with diminishing slates and corrugated asbestos, topped with a slate roof and ridge coping tiles, and is supported by granite monolith piers. The structure is a single room with a gable end and features a side door accessed by a wooden ladder. It stands on unusually tall staddle stones, approximately 2.5 metres high, which create a 3-bay cart shed underneath. The granary has three bays on the sides and two bays on the gable ends, with each gable end featuring a 2-light window opening. One gable end is hung with corrugated asbestos, while the other is slate-hung. The interior is not accessible.
