Description

This is a limekiln, likely built in the early or mid 19th century. It is constructed from slatestone rubble and has a rectangular plan, built into a bank. The loading area is located at the top at the rear, and it is positioned near the west bank of the River Fowey. The front of the limekiln measures about 20 metres in length and features a round-arched entrance on the right. The structure is currently much overgrown with ivy.
