Description

The Limekiln, likely built in the early to mid 19th century, is constructed from slatestone rubble with granite quoins and brick dressings. It is set into a bank, allowing for loading from the top at the rear, and features three entrances to the kilns at the front, which are symmetrically arranged. Each entrance has a round brick arch with a stone keystone and the structure measures approximately 20 meters in length. Inside the entrances, there is brick tunnel vaulting. The Limekiln is located close to the west bank of the River Fowey.
