TREMAINE SX 29 SW 3/171 Barn adjoining Minnimeer Farmhouse - on SW

Barn, now partly converted for domestic use. Circa mid C19. Stone rubble. Rag slate roofs with gable ends. Plan: Bank barn probably originally comprising shippons on ground floor and threshing floor above. The first floor has now been converted for domestic use. Single storey elevation to front and two storeys to rear where ground slopes down. Extends to rear right of the farmhouse and attached carriage house (qv), forming an overall 'L' shaped plan. The barn has been further extended with a lower range on the right hand gable end. Exterior: Front elevation of the barn is of single storey with entrance near centre; heavy double doors with slate hood. Rear elevation facing house has central entrance flanked by two small windows. On the first floor a large loading/threshing doorway, now glazed, and with a small window either side.
