Description
Trusell Farmhouse, along with its garden walls, gate-piers, gates, and railings at the front, likely dates from the mid-19th century but has earlier origins. The building is constructed of stone rubble, with the front elevation painted. It features a rag slate roof with gable ends and brick stacks at either end, including a projecting stack on the right side. The farmhouse appears to be a remodelling of an earlier structure that originally had a two-room layout with a cross or through passage, heated by end stacks. In the 19th century, the house was extended at the rear to include service rooms, resulting in a double-depth plan.
The exterior is two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-window front, featuring mid-19th century 16-pane hornless sash windows with crown glass. The window openings have painted brick dressings. The central entrance includes a partly glazed door from the 19th century. The front is bordered by low rendered garden walls topped with late 19th-century railings. There are tall, square, rendered gate-piers with pyramidal caps and a mid-19th century cast iron gate. The interior has not been inspected.
