Description

TREMAINE WESTCOTT SX 28 NW 7/181 Farmhouse on north of settlement - at Westcott

GV II

House. Probably late C17. Rendered and painted stone rubble and cob. Rag slate roof with gable ends. Projecting stone rubble end stack on right and brick shaft to end stack on left. Plan: Two room and through passage plan heated by end stacks. Extended to rear left with C18 outshut and on left hand side with small two storey outbuilding. C19 lean- to outshut to right. Exterior: Two storeys. Almost symmetrical 3 window front with replacement C20 sashes in earlier openings. C20 gabled porch with round arch and rag slate roof. Interior: Ceiling beams largely replaced in C20.
