Description
This farmhouse, located to the north of the settlement at Westcott, likely dates from the late 17th century. It is constructed from rendered and painted stone rubble and cob, topped with a rag slate roof featuring gable ends. The building has a projecting stone rubble end stack on the right and a brick shaft to the end stack on the left. The layout consists of two rooms with a through passage, heated by the end stacks. There are extensions at the rear left with an 18th-century outshut and a small two-storey outbuilding on the left side. To the right, there is a 19th-century lean-to outshut. The exterior is two storeys high and features an almost symmetrical three-window front, with replacement 20th-century sashes in the earlier openings. A 20th-century gabled porch with a round arch and rag slate roof is also present. Inside, the ceiling beams have largely been replaced in the 20th century.
