Description

Farmhouse. The structure is likely of late 17th century origin, with subsequent additions and alterations. The left portion is roughly coursed slate-stone and limewashed, while the right portion is roughly coursed slate-stone and roughcast. Both sections have slate roofs, with the left side featuring a hipped roof. The original two-bay house, built with an end baffle entry plan, was extended to the left. The right portion has a moulded eaves cornice on the first storey. The right side of the house features two 19th-century multi-paned casements on the first floor, a similar casement on the ground floor, and a plank door with a glazed panel above a gabled porch on the left. The addition has two 24-paned horizontal sliding sash windows on each floor and a boarded door with a granite lintel to the left. An external lateral step is located on the left end. External end stacks are present on both the main range (to the right) and at the junction with the addition, both with rendered tops. Catslide outshuts are at the rear of both sections; the right outshut has a flush slate-hung gable projecting through the eaves to the left. Interior inspection was not possible at the time of resurvey in December 1987, but it is likely to contain features of interest.
