Description
Landue Barton Cottage and Lane End Cottage is a house that has been divided into two cottages. It dates from the late 17th century and has undergone later additions and alterations. The building features roughcast slate-stone and a slate roof. It has a two-unit plan with a 19th-century twin-gabled range that is positioned at right angles to the rear. The structure stands two storeys tall and has a gable-lit attic. There are two 19th-century casement windows located directly below the eaves, positioned to the left and far right of a hip-roofed porch that is situated to the left of the center. The porch includes a window at the front and a boarded door on the left side. An internal end stack with a red brick shaft is located to the left.
During the resurvey in December 1987, only the interior of Landue Barton Cottage (the right cottage) was inspected. This cottage features chamfered joists on the ground floor of the main range, with wide floorboards visible in the room above. A low 20th-century gabled range attached to the right gable end of the main range is noted but is not considered to have special architectural interest.
