Description
The Methodist Chapel, likely built around 1860 with some minor later alterations, is constructed of roughly coursed slate-stone with granite and yellow brick dressings, topped with a slate roof featuring ornamental ceramic cresting over the nave. The chapel has a nave with a short semi-circular apse.
On the west side, which is the ritual south side, there is a tall narrow cast-iron latticed window in a chamfered stone surround to the left of the center. To the right, a lean-to features paved round-headed cast-iron latticed windows in moulded brick surrounds, and it has alternating angle quoins. There is also a lean-to porch on the left with boarded double doors that have ornamental strap hinges, set in a chamfered round-headed brick surround. The east side, or ritual north side, mirrors the west side but lacks a porch. The north end, or ritual west end, has a tall narrow round-headed window similar to those on the east and west sides. The apse contains two round-headed leaded latticed windows in moulded brick surrounds.
Inside, the chapel features mid-19th century box pews. It is situated prominently within its own cemetery, elevated above the road.
