Description
1A Castle Street is a town house dating from the early 19th century. It features a textured finish, likely made of stucco, with slate hanging on the right-hand ends. The building has a rag slate roof that is hipped on the right and includes a cast-iron ogee gutter. The house has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys tall, with a symmetrical three-window front and an additional window above a carriage entrance on the left. The first floor has original 16-pane horn-less sash windows, while the ground floor has horned sashes set within recessed panels, all topped with elliptical arches. The round-arched doorway contains a four-panel door and a traceried fanlight. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
