Description
62 and 62A St Thomas Street is a town house built in the early 19th century. It features a front made of elvan ashlar and has a steep scantle slate roof with paired brackets at the eaves cornice, above a stuccoed parapet and a central brick stack. The building has a deep plan and is two storeys high with a symmetrical three-window front. The first floor has late 19th-century four-pane horned sash windows, while the ground floor has older four-pane hornless sashes. The central doorway is flanked by fluted engaged columns and has a two-panel design above a slightly projecting hood with a bead and reel cornice. The entrance includes a six-panel door with two glazed top panels, along with a narrow doorway on the left that features a mid-20th-century panelled and glazed door. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
