SW 52 NE BREAGE PENGERSICK

6/84 Piggery and adjoining outbuildings at approx 10m west of Pengersick Castle

GV II

Piggery with swill kitchen and other adjoining farm buildings. Circa mid C19. Granite rubble partly painted, with axial brick chimney between piggery and swill kitchen. Plan: Irregular grouping of rectangular single storey buildings; the piggery with 3 separate pens, a swill kitchen at the right hand (west) end. Single storey. North front of piggery has 4 doorways, one to each pig's house plus a feeding hatch on the left hand side of each doorway and a doorway to the swill kitchen on the far right. The piggery is a particularly good example of this C19 building type. The range comes into close relationship with Pengersick Castle.
