Description

The Trengrouse Memorial is a graveyard monument located approximately 10 metres south of the porch of the Church of St Michael in Helston. It was created in 1854 or later by Spargo of Helston to honor Henry Trengrouse, who lived from 1772 to 1855 and was known for inventing the rocket life-saving apparatus for shipwrecks at sea. The memorial is made of composite marble and features an anchor and scroll with an inscription on a chamfered granite base. This base is surrounded by a dressed granite kerb with pebbles in between.
