Description

The Gluyas tomb, located south-east of the porch of the Church of St Michael in Helston, is a chest tomb dating from 1842. It commemorates Thomas Gluyas, who was the late foreman of miners in the Ordnance Department and died in 1842 at the age of 55. The tomb features dressed granite monolithic sides with a moulded top edge, resting on a granite base. At the east end, there is a low-pitched-headed headstone that includes an inset plaque with an incised inscription.
