Description

This is a detached town house, originally a single dwelling but later divided into a pair. It dates from around 1700, with a substantial refronting undertaken in the early 19th century. The building is constructed of granite and other local rubble, with original timber lintels featuring stop-chamfered cyma stops. The roof is covered in steep scantle slate, with brick end stacks and a cast-iron ogee gutter.

The house has a double-depth plan and presents a symmetrical three-window facade. A central blind window is fitted with a 12-pane horizontal-sliding sash, featuring simulated glazing bars painted onto the glass. This sits above a pair of mid- to late 19th-century four-panel doors with top glazing, set within a shallow trellised wooden porch incorporating an elliptical arch and a low-pitched gable. Flanking the central window are mid-19th century twelve-pane hornless sashes, with late 19th-century six-pane horned sashes above. The interior remains uninspected but is likely to contain features of interest.
