Tredinnick Farmhouse Adjoining Walls To North And West And Mounting Block

Tredinnick Farmhouse is a farmhouse with adjoining walls to the north and west, along with a mounting block. The house dates from the 17th century and was remodeled in the early 18th century and 19th century. It has a U-shaped plan, a stair turret, and an adjoining outshut within the courtyard. The irregular west front features four windows on the ground floor, arranged as window, door, window, window, each with a window above. A small open porch has a low pitched gable. Several straight joints indicate that openings were altered, likely in the 19th century. There are shallow brick arches over the left and right ground floor windows. Large pane windows were inserted into the front around 1960, replacing the original small paned sashes. A large external stack is located on the left gable end, and a stone projection at the rear may be an earlier stair turret or lateral stack. A window with leaded glazing was removed from the north-east wing a few years before the survey. The south wall features dove holes. Inside, there is an early 18th-century dogleg stair with turned balusters over a closed string and a bread oven in the north-east wing. The first-floor rooms have two-panel doors. A granite-coped rubble garden wall to the west rises to form gate piers, with an early to mid-19th-century gate. The adjoining rubble mounting block has five steps leading to the south-west corner. The building on the north side of the rubble-walled and cobbled north courtyard has small windows and very low doorways.
