Description

ST BURYAN SW 42 SW 8/364 Outbuilding about 30 metres east - north east of Dorminack GV II Outbuilding of uncertain original purpose used as a stable Probably C18 or C19, extended in C20. Granite rubble. Grouted scantle slate roof with gabled ends. Plan: Small rectangular plan single cell building with a doorway at the centre of the front. In the C20 it was extended at the right hand north east end. Exterior: Single storey. The south east front has a wide doorway at the centre. At the back (north west) there are 2 small window openings. At the right (north east) end there is a C20 concrete extension. Interior: The floor is made of small granite rubble sets The roof structure was not observed. The Falmouth estate at Tregothnan is reputed to have records of a croft having been established here in the early C18 (1704?) according to the tenant, Mr. D. Tangye.
