Description
This is a group of three chimney stacks located at West Wheal Tolgus on the west side of the Tolskithy Valley. They are likely from the mid to late 19th century and are probably linked to the processing of tin streamings. The stacks are constructed from uncoursed granite rubble and some brick. They are grouped within a radius of no more than 20 meters and are all cylindrical in shape, with a slight taper. The southernmost stack is stout and short, featuring remains of a former brick upper stage. The northern stack is slender and has remnants of a brick cornice, while the eastern stack shows a distinct step between its stout stone base and the remains of its brick upper stage. Together, these chimney stacks create a striking visual group near the new A30 trunk road.
