Description
The Church Hall in Altarnun is a building from the early 19th century, constructed of stone rubble with granite dressings and featuring a rag slate roof with gable ends. The structure has an overall rectangular plan, likely divided into two large rooms that are heated by end stacks. There is a small wing added near the center of the front, dating from the late 19th or early 20th century, which consists of a one-room plan, along with a small outshut added to the rear right.
The exterior is a single-storey range with large granite quoins. Originally, the granite lintels above the window openings extended to form a continuous string band below the eaves, but these have been altered as the windows have increased in height. On the left side, there are two late 19th or early 20th century two-light casements with additional top lights, while on the right side, there is a 16-pane horned sash window with an additional top light and another 16-pane window. Near the center of the building, the small wing has a gable end facing the front and features a plank door on the right-hand side. The interior has not been inspected.
