Description

ALTARNUN ALTARNUN SX 28 SW 4/58 Church Hall - GV II

Church hall. Circa early C19. Stone rubble with granite dressings. Rag slate roof with gable ends. Stone rubble end stacks. Plan: Overall rectangular plan probably divided into two large rooms heated by end stacks. Small circa late C19 or C20 one-room plan wing added near centre on front and small outshut added to rear right. Exterior: Single storey range with large granite quoins. The granite lintels above the window opening were originally extended to form a continous string band below the eaves. However, as the windows have increased in height, the lintels have been altered. There are two circa late C19 or C20 2-light casements with further top lights to left and a 16-pane horned sash with additonal top light and 16-pane window to right. Near the centre is a small wing with gable end to front and plank door in right hand side. Interior: Not inspected.
