Description
This guide-post, located about 50 metres west of Lower Treleggan, dates from the early 20th century. It is made of cast iron and is painted white with black lettering and rims. The guide-post features a round section shaft topped with a moulded spike finial and has four arms attached to the shaft by collars. The arms are also black-painted and display raised relief lettering in upper case without serifs, indicating directions and distances to Wendron, Constantine, Mawnan Smith, Gweek, Helston, The Lizard, Falmouth, Redruth, and Truro. The guide-post is positioned on top of a field bank, although much of the shaft, including the maker's name, is buried.
