Description

This is a guidepost located at SX 076632, dating from the late 19th century. It is made of cast iron and features a circular shaft with raised lettering in upper case that reads "CORNWALL." The guidepost has a knob and spike finial at the top. It includes three cast iron collars that hold signplate arms, each displaying raised lettering in upper case indicating distances to various locations: "LOSTWITHIEL 3" and "FOWEY 83/4"; "NEWQUAY 18 1/2" and "TRURO 23 1/4"; "BODMIN 2 1/4" and "LISKEARD 13 1/4."
