Description

The Lanhydrock War Memorial Club, dating to circa 1920, is constructed of slatestone rubble with granite dressings and a slate roof featuring ridge tiles, gable ends with scrolled kneelers, gable end stacks, and a central rear lateral stack with rubble shafts. The building's plan includes a central entrance through a porch leading to a front lateral corridor, a main hall to the rear, and cross wings projecting to the front. Each wing features a two-room plan with an unheated room at the front and a heated room to the rear.

The symmetrical front elevation features a central gabled porch with granite buttresses, a 4-centred arched chamfered granite doorway with a hood mould and double doors with strap hinges. A datestone above the doorway reads "LANHYDROCK WAR MEMORIAL CLUB 1914 - 18". Flanking the porch are three single 9-pane windows. Each wing has a gable end with a four-light mullion and transom window, with nine panes to each light, and a ventilator above. The central ridge features a cupola with a lead ogee roof and spike finial. One side of the building is blind and showcases an external stack. Attached to the left side of the front wing is a single-storey privy, and a door is situated on the left side of the front wing. The rear features gables with similar mullion and transom windows and ventilators. A central external stack is present, alongside a three-light window to the right and left. The interior has not been inspected.
