Description

Trelowth Farmhouse, now a house, dates from the early to mid-19th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. Constructed of granite rubble, it has a hipped slate roof with ridge tiles and brick stacks with rendered shafts. The original plan is double-depth, incorporating an entrance set off-centre to the left, a larger room to the front right, and a smaller room to the front left, each heated by an end stack. A rear service wing is also present.

The exterior presents a nearly symmetrical three-window front. All windows are 19th-century 12-pane sashes set within cambered stone arches. A 20th-century half-glazed door, also with a cambered stone arch, is positioned off-centre to the left. The right end of the facade is blind. The rear features a 20th-century glazed porch with an inner 19th-century four-panelled door, along with a 12-pane sash window to the left and a small four-pane sash to the right. First floor windows include a 12-pane sash to the left and a 20th-century window to the right, both with cambered stone arches. An early 20th-century two-storey brick addition extends to the right, incorporating a 9-pane window on the inner side at ground floor, forming a shallow rear wing. The interior remains uninspected.
