Description

The Trelowth Methodist Church is a building dated 1872. It is constructed from squared granite rubble with granite dressings, and has a slate roof with crested ridge tiles and gable ends. The church has a single auditorium, with the entrance at the front gable end and the ritual (east) side facing the rear. The front of the church is tall and single-storey, with plank double doors set within a round-arched surround in dressed stone, topped with a fanlight. To the left and right of the entrance are tall, round-arched windows with keystones, each containing 21 panes of 20th-century glazing. A circular slate datestone, bordered with brick and bearing the inscription “UMFC 1872,” sits above the entrance. The left and right sides of the building feature two similar tall, round-arched windows. The rear gable end is blind. The interior was not inspected, but may retain original features such as pews and panelling.
