Description

Roseview Farmhouse is a mid-19th century farmhouse with few later alterations. It is constructed from stone rubble with granite dressings and features a slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends. The house has a two-room plan with a central entrance, where the principal rooms on either side are of equal size and each heated by a gable end stack. Attached to the left end is a single-storey wash house, and there is an integral one-room plan service wing at the rear left, also heated from a gable end stack.

The exterior is two storeys high and has a symmetrical two-window front. All windows are 19th-century 12-pane sashes with flat stone arches and keystones. The central entrance features a 20th-century panelled door with an overlight; the arch above the door has a keystone and continues as a band course. The right end of the house is blind, while there is a two-storey lean-to at the rear, which has a 12-pane sash window on the ground floor and a 20th-century window on the first floor, with the upper level rendered. The left end is also blind. The attached wash house on the left is single-storey, featuring a 4-pane sash window at the front with a cambered brick arch and a plank door at the rear. The rear service wing to the left has two 19th-century 12-pane sashes on the first floor, and a 12-pane sash and a plank door with a pitched slate hood on the ground floor. At the rear, the gable end of the wing has a late 19th-century margin-glazed sash window on the first floor to the left. The interior has not been inspected.
