Description
This is a milestone, probably from the 18th century, made of painted granite. It is shaped like a post, standing about 1 metre high and 0.3 metre wide, with a round head. The front of the milestone is inscribed in crude upper case letters: "FROM TRELO WARREN V". It is set into a bank along an ancient ridgeway that leads from Gweek northwards to the main Truro-Helston road. Notably, this stone was meant specifically for travelers heading to the great house of Trelewarren in the parish of Mawgan-in-Meneage.
