Description
This milestone, likely from the 18th century, is a granite monolith shaped like a post with a rounded head, measuring about 0.3 metres wide. Its height is unknown as most of the base is buried in the bank. The front features crude upper case letters inscribed with "FROM TRELO N WARRE VI." It is positioned in a bank along an ancient ridgeway that leads from Gweek northwards to the main Truro-Helston road. Notably, this stone was meant specifically for travelers heading to the grand house of Trelowarren in the parish of Mawgan-in-Meneage.
