Stable/Coach House And Forecourt Walls About 20 Metres North East Of Trewin House

This stable and coach house, along with its forecourt walls, is located about 20 meters northeast of Trewin House and is dated 1889, as noted on a drinking trough. The building is constructed from sandstone rubble with white brick dressings and has hipped asbestos slate roofs.

The layout features a central coach house with living accommodation above, flanked by stable wings on both sides. The central two-storey coach house has four first-floor windows, all of which are 6-pane sashes with triangular heads. On the ground floor, there are double doors for carriage access on the left, which project from the wall and have a hood above, complete with a 4-pane triangular light in the gable. To the right, there is a taller, narrower pointed arched door. All doors are adorned with decorative strap hinges and have brick pointed arches above them.

The single-storey stables on the right and left each have an end bay that is slightly advanced and topped with a hipped roof. Each side features two pointed arched doorways with 4-light triangular fanlights. The left stable has one blocked door, while both doors on the right are blocked and have casements inserted. Inside the left stable, there are loose boxes with cast iron mangers.

The forecourt walls are made of rubble and stand about 1.5 meters high, enclosing a yard that is approximately 8 meters deep and 17 meters long at the front. The entrance features a pair of square piers, each about 2 meters high, made of rubble with flat tops, and there is a similar pier at each front corner. A granite drinking trough, dated 1889, is attached to the wall on the left.
