Description
Ferry Cottage is a house dating from the mid-19th century, situated near St Germans Quay. It is constructed of slatestone rubble, rendered on the left side, with greenstone dressings. The roof is slate, with ridge tiles and gable ends. The gable ends have stacks, rendered on the left and painted on the right, featuring shaped tops.
The house follows a two-room plan with a central entrance. A single-storey outshut at the rear originally served as service rooms. The exterior presents a symmetrical two-window facade on two storeys. All windows are 16-pane sashes from the 19th century, set within cambered greenstone arches. A window on the ground floor to the right was previously larger and has been partially blocked. A half-glazed door is centrally positioned. A two-light casement window is located at first floor level on the left side; the right side is blank. The interior was not inspected.
