Description

The Battery is an ornamental battery, likely built in the mid-19th century. It features a slatestone rubble wall that is approximately 30 meters long, with an embattled design and slate coping on the merlons. The wall extends to the south for another 30 meters, but this section does not have battlements and also has slate coping. There are six cannons facing out towards the River Tiddy, two of which are dated 1808 and inscribed with the names RUELLE and NEVERS, while another cannon is dated 1617.
