Description

This is an early 19th-century lime kiln located at St Germans Quay. It is constructed from slatestone rubble with brick dressings and features large blocks of random rubble. The kiln has a large rectangular plan, measuring approximately 10 metres by 5 metres, and is built into the bank at the rear for top loading. There are two entrances at the front, which consist of two round-arched openings. Above these arches is a projecting stone band course that continues around the sides. On the right side, there is a skewed inspection hole. Inside, the kiln is circular.
