Description
Poltisco House, now part of Truro School, is a house dating from the early 19th century. It features dressed, coursed local freestone walls and a hipped asbestos slate roof with wide eaves. There is a brick stack on the right-hand side and cast-iron ogee gutters. The building has a double-depth plan and is two storeys tall, with a symmetrical three-window garden front. The flat arches above the original 16-pane hornless sash windows have projecting keyblocks, and there is no doorway on this facade. The right-hand return has a symmetrical three-window entrance front with a central doorway that features an elliptical-arched porch supported by fluted Doric columns. The entrance includes a six-panel door with an overlight, and the original sash window above the doorway, while the other windows have louvres. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
