PERRANZABULOE PENWARTHA COOMBE SW 75 SE 5/78 Pendragon House - GV II

Former board school, now a private house. Datestone 1878. Killas brought to course, granite dressings.U-plan dry Delabole slate roof with gable ends at the front. Rubble lateral stacks with brick shafts. Plan: U-shaped plan with projecting wing on either side at the front plus porch in the inner right-hand angle. Probably a central schoolroom with an entrance lobby on its left, and a large classroom or 2 classrooms on either side projecting at the front. Gothic style details. Exterior: Single storey. Unaltered elevations with original doors and windows. Pointed arched doorways, wooden mullioned windows with transoms. l:l:l:l:l-bay west front has central 3-light traceried window under a segmental arch datestone to gable over and original cross-braced bellcote with cusped gable, above; on the left is a pointed-arched doorway with traceried overlight; on the right a porch with single- light windows at the front and doorway into its left-hand wall, and at far left and right are projecting gable-ended wings with large central 3-light traceried windows under pointed arches. All the openings at the front have hoodmoulds over. Granite coped plinth. Interior: Not inspected.
