Description

Boots Chemist, located at No 9 Penzance Market Place, is an early to mid-19th century building. It features a stucco exterior and a slate hipped roof with wide panelled eaves supported by paired brackets. The structure is three storeys high and has three windows with sash frames that lack glazing bars. The first-floor windows are set in semi-circular headed recesses, while the second-floor windows have plain architraves. The ground floor has a large modern recessed shop front with a deep fascia. This building occupies an important corner site and is part of a group that includes Nos 9 to 14 and Cresta Silks Limited in Queen Square.
