Description

Milestone located approximately 1200 metres southeast of Hallworthy, dating from the early 19th century. It is made of granite and painted white, featuring a rectangular shape with a rounded top. The milestone is inscribed with 'L IO'. This milestone relates to the Turnpike road act for roads leading into Launceston, which was passed in 1760.
