Description

This is a terrace of five small houses located on St Stephen’s Hill in Launceston, built in the early to mid-19th century. The houses are constructed of stucco over rubble, with a dry slate roof, except for the asbestos slate roof on number 18. They have brick axial stacks. The houses follow a shallow-double-depth plan, and are two storeys high, with an overall seven-window range. Numbers 10 and 18 have gable ends facing the street. The first floors have original hornless sash windows with margin panes. The ground floor windows are tripartite sashes with horizontal glazing bars, all set within stucco architraves. The house at number 18 has an original eight-panel door, while the other houses have 20th-century replacement doors, mostly within architraves. The interior has not been inspected.
