9/168 Lodge, front garden walls, stile - and entrance gateway at road entrance to Bosloe

GV II

Lodge. Circa 1903. Dressed killas brought to course at the front, otherwise rubble; granite dressings. Scantle slate hipped roof with projecting eaves. Brick chimneys over left-hand wall. Plan: Double depth plan with 2 equal sized rooms at the front under the main roof; cross passsage between leading to service rooms with integral rear lean-to. Exterior: Single storey. Symmetrical 2 window west front with central doorway. Original 4-panel door with overlight and original 12-pane 3-light casements. Interior: Not inspected. Low granite coped walls parallel to the front of the lodge have central gateway and round-headed granite monolithic gate piers and terminal piers. Over these walls are original cast-iron railings with trefoil panels and finials. At either end of these walls there are segmental-on-plan higher walls. On the right the wall is longer and has a wide gateway midway with granite monolithic piers. There is a stile just to the right of the lodge walls.
