Description

This house, now a shop, was likely built in the 1830s for Josephus Ferris, a local developer. It is constructed from stucco with an asbestos slate roof. The left side of the roof is hipped, and the front has projecting eaves supported by moulded brackets. The house follows a double-depth plan and has two storeys over a basement, with a two-window facade. It features horns and 12-pane sashes, with stucco hoodmolds above the windows. A 20th-century shop front has been installed, and the shop interior has also been altered in the 20th century. The building is included on the list for its group value within the surrounding area.
