Description
This structure is a probable pigsty, or possibly an ash house, located approximately 60 meters south of Helland Farmhouse. It likely dates from the 18th century and is constructed of granite rubble with dressed granite features. The building has an oval plan chamber with a domed corbelled roof, measuring about 2 meters in diameter. It is built into a rubble and earth hedge and has a fairly low doorway on the south side. The stile consists of granite monoliths that serve as steps, running through the thickness of the hedge. This interesting structure can be compared to similar buildings found at Higher Spargo, Trenoweth, and Eathorne Farm.
