Description
This pigsty, located approximately 40 metres west of Middle Farm farmhouse, likely dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed from coursed sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings and features a stone flagged roof. The building is one storey high and consists of one bay, with a low south wall and a high north wall, topped by a monopitch roof. The right side has a flat stone lintel above a boarded door, and there is a small square hole above it with a thin stone lintel, which may have been used for ventilation or for hens. Attached dry rubble walls create an exercise yard, with an entrance on the east side. This structure is included for its group value.
