Description
The Rowe monument is an obelisk located in the churchyard about 24 metres west of the tower of the Church of St Andrew in Calstock. It dates from the 19th century and is made of stone. The monument has a square plan plinth that tapers upwards, featuring a moulded base and top, and a slender chamfered obelisk. It was created by J.S. Rogers of Tavistock. Surrounding the monument is a rectangular enclosure with chamfered granite coping, although the railings have been removed. The monument commemorates George Rowe, who died in 1886, along with other members of his family.
