Description
The boathouse at Trevarno Manor House, built around 1870 for William Bickford-Smith, features a painted timber frame with boarded infill panels. It has a slate gable-ended roof adorned with ornate bargeboards at the verges and eaves, along with crested ridge tiles. The structure has a rectangular four-bay plan, with one end open and one side built against a raised rendered stone revetment. The opposite side consists of four bays supported by stop-chamfered timber posts, with boarded panels in between. This side also includes cusped windows with diamond leaded panes and stained glass borders. Above the gabled open front, there is a wooden bellcote featuring pairs of round arches and a two-stage spire clad in slate and lead, topped with an iron weathervane.
