Description

A row of four cottages, dating to the late 18th century and early 19th century, with associated front garden walls. The cottages are constructed of roughly coursed faced killas rubble, with some brick arches, some stone arches, and some timber lintels. The roofs are hipped and covered in asbestos and Delabole slate. A large external rubble chimney stack is positioned on the left-hand side, with a brick chimney over the party wall towards the right.

The cottages generally follow a double-depth plan. Three of the cottages (Nos. 45 and 46) are under one roof and share a similar design, each featuring a front room and a side entrance hall. The right-hand cottage (No. 44) has a larger front room.

The cottages have two storeys and a front facade with a seven-window arrangement. Nos. 45 and 46 have circa mid-19th century hornless 12-pane sashes. No. 44 has a circa early 19th century 16-pane horned sash on the ground floor and 12-pane horned sash replacements above. The first floor of No. 44 features a tripartite hornless sash. The interiors have not been inspected.
