Description
The kitchen garden walls, dating from the early 19th century, are located about 100 metres north of Heligan House. Constructed of red brick laid in Flemish bond, the walls enclose a roughly rectangular kitchen garden that covers approximately half an acre. The northern and eastern walls feature the remains of greenhouses. The entrance is situated in the south wall.
The walls stand about 4 metres high and include pilasters at regular intervals, topped with a brick cornice. At the entrance, the walls slope down to a pair of granite monolith piers, each about 3 metres high, which have a cornice, swept necking, and ball finials. Inside the walls on the north and east sides, there are remnants of lean-to greenhouses.
