Description
Peruppa Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century, with an extension likely added in the mid-19th century. The original part features slate hanging on the front, while the rest is constructed from killas rubble with red brick dressings. It has a dry slate roof that is hipped on the left and half-hipped on the right, with a lean-to on the far right. The building has a double-depth plan, consisting of two rooms at the front flanking a central entrance hall, and it is extended with a probable parlour wing on the left and a lean-to, likely an apple loft, on the right.
The exterior is two storeys high, with a symmetrical three-window front and a central doorway, along with a one-window-range wing on the left and the apple loft on the right, which has a doorway approached by a flight of stone steps. The windows are late 19th century or 20th century six-pane horned sashes. There is an old glazed porch with a hipped slate roof in front of the original doorway.
The interior has not been inspected, but the farmhouse is noted as a complete example, distinguished by its use of slate hanging in a characteristic regional style.
