Description

This is a 19th-century guidestone made of painted granite. It is a roughly hewn monolith with a triangular shape and a flat top, which features rough carvings with scroll stops. The guidestone stands about half a metre high. On all three sides, there is carved painted lettering in sans-serif upper case that reads "ST AUSTELL," "GRAMPOUND," and "TREGONY and MEVAGISSEY," with the lettering arranged in circular patterns.
