Description
Polgreen Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with a late 18th-century wing at the rear and remodelled in the late 19th century. The building is constructed of rubble stone and cob, with some areas rendered. The left-hand gable end is slate hung. It features a large projecting stepped stone stack on the right-hand gable end, a brick stack on the left-hand gable end, and another projecting stack on the rear gable end. The roof is covered with slurried scantle slate and has gabled ends. The plan has been altered with a lean-to added at the junction on the rear.
The farmhouse is two storeys high and has an asymmetrical three-window front, with the left side set slightly forward. There is a late 19th-century gabled porch made of rubble and rendered, topped with a slate roof and featuring a segmental arch. The porch includes a partly glazed door. The late 19th-century windows consist of a 4-pane sash on the left, a tripartite sash on the right, and three 4-pane sashes above.
